It wasn’t long ago that virtualization and cloud computing was top of mind for many IT organizations as they sought ways to compete with external IT service providers siphoning business from their internal LOBs. However, the focus of IT organizations shifted to Big Data analytics and its promise of providing deeper insight to customer behavior to gain competitive advantage. Now, as Big Data analytics becomes more widely adopted, it too is likely to be eclipsed by the Internet of Things, machine-to-machine communication, and more.

In all of these technology advances, information storage maintains a central role. In fact, its prominence has increased as each of the advances mentioned above requires greater and greater capacity to store the amount of structured and – increasingly – unstructured data being created by myriad devices. Consequently, a solid understanding of information storage and management is vital if IT organizations are to implement software-defined storage infrastructure that can support today’s requirements and prepare for even greater demands that will no doubt be placed on storage infrastructure going forward.

The question is: Do you and your team have the information storage and management skills required to optimize the capabilities of these new IT environments?

We have enhanced the content of our popular Information and Storage Management course to increase the scope of your IT skills transformation and bring you up-to-date with the latest emerging storage-related technologies. Coverage of Third Platform technologies — cloud, Big Data, mobile, and social — and software-defined data centers have been added to reflect the reality of today’s IT infrastructures. This newly released training and certification course — Information and Storage Management (ISM) version 3 — provides a strong understanding of storage technologies and prepares participants for advanced concepts, technologies, and processes.

Like the previous versions of ISM, ISM v3 remains the recommended first step for achieving EMC Proven Professional certification, a leading certification in the IT industry. Candidates who pass the Information Storage and Management Version 3 Exam will earn the EMC Proven Professional Information Storage Associate (EMCISA) Version 3 credential. This is a qualifying prerequisite for achieving Specialist-level certification as well as other EMC Proven Professional certifications.

Available in both instructor-led and self-paced formats, ISM v3 training will help you gain the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions on storage-related technologies in increasingly complex IT environments.
